What is telehealth?

What is Telehealth?

Telehealth is either an online face to face health consult via video call on a smart device such as a computer, tablet, mobile phone or, a telephone call.

Education includes, all types and aspects of diabetes, other chronic health conditions, weight loss, healthy eating, carbohydate counting, exercise, diabetes technology, insulin pumps and the list is extensive.

All individual and group services will be provided via telehealth.

Advtantages  include, no travel,  no car parking issues, no fuel costs. no sitting in waiting rooms, or taking time off work or colleg/university. We all know how hard it is to fit in appointments around other committments.

You can have a support person with you either sitting with you or joining online for the consult.

It doesnt matter where in Australia you live we can help you.

Any rersources can either be sent to you via email or you can download from the website.

Virtually anything we can do face to face physically we can do online. For instance showing you how to use a blood glucoe monitor, appliyng a continuouse glucose sensor or injecting insulin.  It can all be achived online.

We communicate and liaise with your doctor about your diabetes care including medication.

At Diabetes Central we are pleased to offer both telephone and Video telehealth via our secure Video Telehealth service Halaxy. It’s very easy to use, clicking the link at the appoitment time. You don't have to download anything, you just need to have access to a computer, tablet such as an Ipad or a  mobile phone  with a microphone and ideally a camera. If you don't have access to these devices we can always arrange a phone call consult.

Medicare is now supporting the use of telehealth and you can use your chronic disease allied health referral (known as an EPC) to access a rebate for our services.
