Ann is a Registered Nurse Credentialled Diabetes Educator (CDE) and has over 25years of experience. She has worked in Hospitals and in Community Health so has an excellent understanding of the health system as well as what issues people living with diabetes face, navigating an often complex system. As a consequence, she started her own Private Practice in 2012. Private Practice allows her clients to experience current evidence based and best practice diabetes advice and support in an ongoing and timely manner tailored to their individual needs.

 My role as a CDE is to be the coach, the support person and the barracker. Diabetes should not define someone. No one walks the same path in life whether they have diabetes or not, I listen, understand and work with the client’s individual needs and aim to help them make the most of their lives and opportunities”.

\Ann is a leader in the field of diabetes care and management sitting on numerous policy advisory committees as well as championing the need for greater support and equitable access to services for people living with diabetes. She has taught in higher education and has mentored numerous health professionals looking to expand their skills and expertise and qualify as a Credentialled Diabetes Educator.

Ann has been invited as an expert speaker to present to health care professionals in Australia and Internationally. Most recently in the area of Telehealth an emerging tool to provide equitable access to diabetes support for people who want or require an alternative to traditional face to face appointments.Currently Ann is a Non-Executive Director of the Australian Diabetes Educators Association.

In her spare time Ann enjoys working on her rural property, her current pet project is cultivating her edible garden and cooking up a storm, enjoying the fruits of her labour.
